Lil Wayne was on trial yesterday just after taking home the best Hip Hop video award from the VMA's. Lil Wayne is on trial for an arrest on criminal gun possession that he had received last year. If convicted, Wayne could face up to 4 years in prison.
Officer Diane Hornung testified that she boarded the bus after Carter performed at a concert at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan on July 22, 2007, when she saw and smelled marijuana smoke that wafted from the bus’ open door.Do you know how it happened? The cop walked on a marijuana filled tour bus (do you know how much weed it takes to fill up a TOUR BUS with smoke?) and caught one man trying to flush a bag of it down the toilet, and Wayne, in his underwear, trying to hide a bag with a gun inside of it.
The officer then testified that she saw Carter in a bedroom at the back of the bus, sitting on a bed in his underwear and trying to hide a bag.
The really funny thing about this is the fact that he was sitting on a bed in his underwear getting high. They say drugs are done mostly when you are comfortable so I guess Wayne likes being naked and amongst guns.
The real ironic thing is that Wayne will not get jail time whatsoever for this. May God

despite my partial demise for cult followers of wayne, i can respect what he's doing (not the smoking/guns part, haven't we learned from T.I.?). but some of his music actually IS good. It's fun. sift through all the nonsense and you will find stuff worth listening to. not to mention all of his work before he was 'weezy f baby' with 10 million 13 year old groupies. Do I think he's the best rapper alive? Nah. But can I give him credit for his art? Of course. The man has talent, whether you believe its in his ability to perform, his wit, his actual lyrics, or maybe its that retarded dance thing he does onstage...hmm. If none of that matters--he himself knows good music, that counts for something, right?
I understand what you are saying but the problem with Wayne is that some of his rhymes are sooo lackluster but people pass them off as FIRE. What does this do? It allows the person that raps to come out with lackluster shit. What does that do? kill hip hop. When the bar was set higher then there was better rap than it made sense.

the problem then, isnt wayne. it's his cult followers who've decided half-ass is enough. he's playin' them. and he's mega rich because of it. he does however have some good music, so i can respect that aspect of the wayne frenzy. wack shit is wack shit, regardless of who spits.
