Music Info: Jeezy On CNN.

Again here I am posting from World Star Hip Hop. This is a small expose CNN did on Young Jeezy and his album The Recession (which is in stores and actually pretty damn good...pick it up!) He just registered to vote which shows he has not been committed of a felony if I am correct.

The funny thing is, what a lot of people may NOT know, Jeezy was not always for Barack Obama.

He is only doing it because Hip Hop is making him.

Smh.

Nignorance: Josh Howard

C'mon Josh. This is why I had a poll earlier this month about how maybe Hip Hop was tarnishing Barack Obama. Now a video leaks about Josh Howard saying, "The national anthem is going on right now...I am black I do not celebrate that sh*t. Barack Obama 08 and all that."

C'mon Josh.

I take the statement about Hip Hop ruining Barack's campeign. It is us. Us black people that are ruining Barack Obama's campaign. We are making it hard for him to get elected with these stupid antics.

Now do not come up in here and tell me that it has nothing to do with him because it does. The kinda conservative people that are on the fence about voting for Barack or the on the fence liberals may change their votes.

Why?

Because they do no want to be affiliated with people like that. People are going to throw voters for Barack Obama into a stigmatized group. Now I know a few of you are looking at this right now and saying I am crazy but I am not. Just look at it.

Think about it.

The video to Josh Howards incident was taken off of YouTube (becasue YouTube is a Nazi organization now, however the ESPN video is good enough).

Music Info: Tempest

I have known this dude for years and he was consistently one of nicest rappers I listened to. Now when I used to rap he graced a song for me and dominated on my own song. Eh.

Honestly I do not know how dude does it. He is nice without Vocoder(it is not called Autotune you idiots) and his raps bring a small idea of R&B into the mix; it makes him a good rapper to chill too. Reminiscent of Bone Thugs and Harmony with a raspier voice which is sure to turn on the Lil Wayne stans.

If you had not heard about him before, check him out now. Believe me I never plug anyone and now I am doing it for once. Check it out.

When my boy Matt Diamond sent me this I had no idea what to expect. I gave him a listen and I am actually excited about this dude. I like Donny Goines but Emilio intrigues me. His flow is solid and moves through a hard hitting beat produced by M-Phazes. Emilio kills the track and made a fan out of me. Interview: Skyzoo: All About the Fan.

Skyzoo: All about the fan.

No Lil Wayne here, one of Hot 97’s top 10 rappers alive, Skyzoo is currently is in China performing two shows in the Post Olympic country. On the outside, Gregory Skyler Taylor is a rapper on the verge of “the big time”. Sky’s spotlight is not local, regional or even national. It is international and he can be said to be on a mountain not many rappers can elevate themselves to. A rapper with a life as bustling as his must not have time for the fan. No reason to respond to every message he gets to his popular page which captures over 6k hits a day. No, not Skyzoo. It is all about the fan. Every fan that recognizes him on the street gets a signed mixtape, and a picture. As mentioned before, Skyzoo is in China to perform for people who probably will not understand a word he is saying, however they are able to see him perform. When asked about this Skyzoo says, “At the end of the day it is all about the fan”.

I was granted an interview with Skyzoo through his MySpace. Skyzoo has a busy schedule doing up to three shows a week, flying to North Carolina, and working on his new album, he was still able to respond to me in a couple days. “See, I respond to all of my messages because it talks to real people. If I take three hours out of my day to sit on MySpace then I am doing work. Even the messages that say, ‘Yo Sky you are nice I like what you are doing’, those messages need to be responded to too.”

When asked about the performances in China, Sky says, “My fanbase is crazy in China, Cloud 9 did extremely well over there. It did well here but even better over there.” China is over 6,000 miles away from his home in Brooklyn, NY. Over 12 hours away, he still manages to garner an influence.

The place where I interviewed Skyzoo can only be described as...hectic. Cl Smooth was about to perform and people were walking in and out of the room to prepare for his performance. Things were crazy and Sky just capped off a rousing performance so he was obviously tired yet he took the time to answer my questions fully. The man truly is in tune with the people who listen to his music. Compared to other artists, it is still fan that he listened to the fan, me, and responded when clearly other important things were going on. To reiterate what was said before, “At the end of the day it is all about the fan.”

I switched the subject briskly to another popular topic in Hip Hop today. Hip Hop may not be dead, nevertheless it is teetering on the edge of disaster with sales as a whole falling compared to other music genres. I asked Sky what he thought about this and he put it simply, “Hip Hop will never die. It cannot die. Why will it not die? Because of Indie Rap. The independent artist it will keep Hip Hop alive. MySpace, blogs, etc are keeping Hip Hop alive.” Skyzoo is a staunch defender of Hip Hop and with him, the new generation may have been born. The internet generation of Hip Hop where the blog sites, MySpace, Facebook and company rule the way music is presented and sold. Where the fan matters more than before.

Music Info: Kanye's 10 Most Extreme Moments*Long but a good read*

In these days of the popularity of tabloid journalism it's quite easy for a celebrity like Kanye West to have his art overshadowed by the antics of his personal life. Since the release of his 2004 debut, The College Dropout, the Chicago-bred rapper has been fortunate to have enough good music in the marketplace to remain relevant based on his talent.

But to some, he is best known for his incidences, like Thursday's widely covered run-in with the paparazzi while at the Los Angeles International Airport en route to Hawaii or one of his numerous outbursts at award shows.

Below are 10 of Kanye's Most Extreme Moments. The list includes moments of his extreme brilliance, uncontrollable utterances (good and bad) and even a horrible tragedy that is clearly the wackest thing that could happen to anyone. The latter is proof that he isn't always the perpetrator but sometimes a victim himself.

10) Jesus Literally Walks With Kanye
Kanye made three videos for his heralded track "Jesus Walks." Version 3 is the most shocking. The video offers a literal interpretation of the song. It's hilarious watching Kanye walking down the street accompanied by Jesus, who is wearing a toga, sandals and the crown of thorns. I don't think anyone was expecting this or any other rapper would produce something this compelling.

9) Kanye Finally Wins
After making a spectacle of himself at the American Music Awards when he lost the Best New Artist honor to country singer Gretchen Wilson, many wondered how Kanye would respond at the 2005 Grammys. Fortunately, his debut The College Dropout received two trophies that night, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song. When Kanye took the stage to receive the Best Rap Album honor he said, "A lot of people were wondering what I was going to do if I didn't win anything ... I guess we'll never know." And we didn't want to know.

8) Bonnaroo Boos Kanye
The thousands of fans who turned out for Kanye's early morning performance on June 15 at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee were livid that the show started 2 hours late. The crowd booed and threw bottles, and even dissed Kanye the following days during sets for Zach Rogue and Robert Randolph. Kanye posted a blog on his website, saying that the delay wasn't his fault. He blamed the festival for not being able to accommodate his set up requirements and a Pearl Jam show that exceeded its time by an hour.

7) Kanye Gets Justice
Obviously determined to upstage any of his previous award show tantrums, Kanye West bum rushed the stage at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen when he did not receive the Best Video award for his video "Touch The Sky." Kanye rudely interrupted Justice vs. Simian's acceptance speech for their video "We Are Your Friends." In Kanye's clip, he took on an Evil Knievel like persona, kissed Pamela Anderson and had a verbal showdown with Nia Long. Even though Kanye admitted that he had never seen the Justice vs. Simian video, he didn't need to. Actually, it is pretty bad.

6) Kanye Gets Beat By A Redneck Woman
Poor Gretchen Wilson's big American Music Award win for Best New Artist is overshadowed by Kanye's protest for losing. Not only did Kanye storm out of the event, he lashed out backstage. "I feel I was definitely robbed," Kanye told the Associated Press. "I was the best new artist this year." He later apologized to Gretchen.

5) Kanye Curses The VMAs
Britney Spear's sloppy opening performance for MTV's 2007 VMA awards may be the most memorable event from the night, but Kanye's backstage tirade is just as unforgettable. Not only did Kanye not win any of the five VMA awards for which he was nominated, he was also relegated to performing in a hotel suite, as opposed to the main stage. When he saw Justin Timberlake take the main stage, Kanye went ballistic, cursing the cable network and vowing to never return. Fortunately the ordeal was caught on tape.

After Kanye's road manager told the photographer to stop photographing him to no avail, Kanye and his road manager commandeered the photographer's equipment and smashed it dead. Kanye and his accomplice were arrested and faced charges of felony vandalism.

He concluded his remarks with an accusation that shocked viewers: "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

4) Kanye's 9/11 Airport Fiasco
It seems a bit unreal that Kanye--of all people--would now have on record his own airport troubles on 9/11. On Thursday, Kanye got into a scuffle with a paparazzi that resulted in an arrest. After Kanye's road manager told the photographer to stop photographing him to no avail, Kanye and his road manager commandeered the photographer's equipment and smashed it dead. Kanye and his accomplice were arrested and faced charges of felony vandalism.

3) Kanye Looks Out For Hurricane Katrina Victims
Watching the news coverage of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina made a huge impact on Kanye. While taping a live Concert For Hurricane Relief telethon, Kanye ignored the teleprompter and offered impromptu and controversial words. He complained that the victims were not receiving adequate help and were portrayed on the news as looters. He concluded his remarks with an accusation that shocked viewers: "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

2) Kanye Escapes Death
Before Kanye launched his solo career, he experienced a near fatal car accident. He had fallen asleep while driving after leaving an extended recording session. The accident left him badly injured, but with his mouth stilled wired shut, he documented the tragedy in song. The positive reaction to "Through The Wire" finally earned him a record deal with Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records.

Kanye's Most Extreme Moments
Posted Sat Sep 13, 2008 9:26am PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

1) Kanye Loses The Girl Who Knew Him Best
Few hip-hop artists show their mothers the type of affection Kanye bestowed upon Dr. Donda West. Though Kanye's off-the-cuff attitude has gotten him dismissed as selfish by many, fans and naysayers alike extended their sincere condolences when they learned that his mother had died suddenly on November 10, 2007. Because Dr. West passed away after undergoing plastic surgery there was speculation regarding the cause of death which was later determined to be heart disease. In addition to co-managing her son, Dr. West had also worked as a professor and former chairwoman of the Chicago State University English department.

50 Cent is in this video mocking Kanye West's Love Lockdown. It is besides me why someone who is barely relevant anymore (yes, I said it) can diss him.
