New Music: Rick Ross ft John Legend "Magnificent"

I've been hunting down this song, only to get snippets, but I finally found it on gowherehiphop.

I love John Legend.

Rick Ross?
He can kick rocks barefoot

The beat is smooootthhh, something I will be vibing to.

John Legend makes this song, the hook is the best part.

Rick Ross is okay.

But Legend is THE MAN.

Nigorance: Lil Wayne < Katie Couric

I know almost everyone saw this fine example of fuckery journalism but I think it just deserved a "Nigornace" tag

"Gangter's dont ask questions"

LMAO @ Katie looking at him and nodding so intently.

What the hell do you think is going through this woman's mind as she is looking at this 'carolina river cricket'?

Cocaine\codeine\weed\extacy\pills are quite the drugs dontcha think?

New Music: Adebisi -"80's Baby X Dance & Romance"

So Adebisi shot me these two songs via Twitter.

Commence the sweating Adebisi.

Review and download inside.

This is looking to be my last post of the day. Not because there is no more stuff, but, mostly because I have to make these techno CD's and that is going to take some time. Regardless, "Dance&Romance" is something that can be played in a club. The only problem I have with it is that the beat sounds as if it was made in Fruity Loops. Remember Fruity Loops?

I know right?

The actual song itself is not that bad. I liked the call out to the females & dudes in the club. That was pretty dope, but, it has been done so many times before that it is almost expected.

This is a bonus, I did not listen to it in depth, but from what I listened...its not that bad.

New Video: K'NAAN - "I'm A Dreamer!"

I do not know who K'NAAN is and to be frank, I do not care. But, I will say that this video is the dopeness.

Someone educate me on this Villain from 24 Dude from Mogadishu.

And where the hell is my baby powder? Gotta powder deez nutz

Shouts to NAH RIGHT for this.

New Music: Set 2 Feat Tona - "Everybody Know Me"

I remember posting another song from Set2 back in December. Dude's flow is nice. I cosign that. However...his boy? I do not cosign.

Oops I forgot to say that. I was talking about the song that I just received and listened to...Check it out inside...

Set2 and his flow is something that is a treat to the ear. Although this track is a lot "poppier" than I am used too, it was good to listen to him nonetheless. His lyrics are not bad...spitting the normal talkdown that rappers love talking about since the dawn of time for the past few months. But Tona?

I do not know...

New Music: Naledge & A. Pinks - God Body Flow (prod. by Analogic)

Do you not notice when you say stuff with exclamation points it makes it that serious!?

Anyway, APinks shot me over this dope song from him and Naledge over Analogics beat. I review it inside.

I also rule.

What else is new?

Is there a reason that these two Emcees have not done more raps together? Normally I am not a huge fan of Naledge, but today he does not fail to disappoint me. That is unusual.

I able to change my opinions all the time...and this time I do it well.

Now..continuing with the review...this beat is something nice and does not manage to annoy me like so many other beats and beat makers do.

Its worth the download.

New Music: Chaundon - "Image Is Nothing x Politically Incorrect"

Shouts to the homie Chaundon. He laced me with these two unreleased freestyles. Now when he is not agreeing with me on matters of farting on girls..literally or hitting on Drea, he is dropping dope music. Check for him to be on the All Puns Intended Mixtape...which I am not even allowed to talk about. So do not bug me about it.

But you can email me about it HERE

This is not the exclusive hence the AllHipHop tag. Regardless, this is something that I thoroughly enjoy. The way he equates rhymes over beats is something that is pleasing to the ear AND the mind. He spits about some real stuff here...and it makes a lot of sense too.

Chaundon is a man of the classics and the norm. My tight jeans? They do not pass. ha!

This is the exclusive dropped to me earlier.

"If you do not see it the way I see it, close ya eyes and Stevie Wonder Your Ass outta here..."

New Mixtape: Fresh Dunks 9...Shouts to IllRoots!

Did I download it? Of course I did...I just deleted skipped all the Wayne songs.

Now that I think of it...I will not lie...I download all of his music.
However...it is for one reason.

Because when I have girls using my Zune and controlling it...I want them to know I have every song for them to listen too. However, the moment they pick a Wayne song...I immediately ridicule and make fun of them for it. Ahhh the life.

Would You Hit?: Kim Kardashian

I like attractive girls. I like famous people too. I just cannot figure out why Kim Kardashian is famous though. I mean...girl came out with a sex tape featuring her and table leg no homo Ray J and now she is huge. The tape, pornwisetrust me I am an expert was subpar to say the least. Something that I'd pass up if I was searching for videos.

Now...she is popular in everything she does. Running to get errands...or running. Or hanging out with Reggie Bush. I cannot understand the reasons for this...or even why.

However...I will say that her sister looks 10x better than her...and I would ram her till the end of time take her on wonderful magical dates.

Would You Hit?: Nilanti Narian

My My My.. where do I start?

Well first off I am TIRED of hearing hip hop died when Biggie and TuPac died... seriously shut the hell up, it did not; granted it isn't the exact same but still, Jay-Z, Nas, Common etc STILL EXIST.

Next point: Is EVERYONE supposed to be in huge baggy jeans, hoodies, and tims? Looking like clones of the fubu logo and no one being able to distinguish between who is who? The
90's are OVER.

Personally the dudes with the tight pants aren't my type, but I do not see a HUGE problem with someone expressing themselves through their wardbrode. That was the basis of hip hop! Self expression! Not to impose a dress code for every rapper. As long as you come with good music, I can care less how you dress.

One reason I love hip hop is because of the oppurtunity rappers have to be different, to have different flows, different lyrical content and styles. That isn't the case for most musical genres.

Tight pants is not what's killing hip hop, its the fans that support "artists" like Soulja Boy instead of artists like Lupe.

And that's that.

"Why do we love love, but love seems to hate us?"

Jazmin is my favorite new artists, her soulful voice has been so desperately missing in music ever since Mary J got clean found happiness.

Yeah, yeah I know there is Keyshia Cole but i love the control and huskiness of Jazmin's voice WAY more.. and the content of her songs trumphs Keyshia's no question.

This video is dope, the song is true to life... and she should be everyone's 'Thick Girl Crush'.

Worth the download.

Review: Theophilus London "The Charming Mixtape"

Inside I review this debut mixtape from Theophilus London.

Want a preview?

I do not know if he is a rapper or a singer.

Here we go!

Coming into the mixtape, I had no idea who Theophilus was. Coming out of Mickey's camp, GFC, he seems to be heavily fronted by Mr Factz himself. Because of this, I was able to go into the tape with an ear for good music; something I am accustomed too when entertaining these drums with Mr Factz's music. I was not to enthused 55 minutes later.

The tape itself is something that leaves more to be desired; it seemed as more of a beat showcase rather than actual rapping. Although there was much, it was not as much as I expected. I am a very pure rap listener. I expect three verses and two hooks; three if willing. Not long audio discourses of music that seem to make little no sense at all in regards to the music. "Computer Love" itself was more of an intense rave-esk party song. In the party atmosphere this would work, however, normally it falls flat. Continuing on this path, the next few songs including a standout songs "The Drug" and "Late Night Operation".

This was not even...rap. To be honest, I was thrown into the same boat that Kid Cudi puts me in...and then sinks me. I have no idea what I am listening too...rapping or singing...or just raving. I enjoyed the beats though. The tape itself failed to stimulate the ear with something different...that was good. This sure was different. Believe me. This new age rap that is coming out is different. However, it was not something that I could really feel; something I could rock too.

The whole tape gets skipped when it comes up on the Zune. In shuffle, "Cold Pillow" and "Computer Love" will not get skipped, however, the rest will.

A Day In The Life: People actually care about me?

Ok so thats what my mug looked like today. I mean ugly right? I know, I know, it's cool. But today was such a depressing day. First off I didn't get a lick of sleep last night. And then I go outside and theres snow everywhere and its pouring freezing rain... it was like someone drank a whole gang of pina colada slurpee's and threw up all over Queens...yuck.

So while I'm in one of my classes bitchin and moanin to anyone who will listen on twitter and AIM ,my friend Vinny IMs me telling me to read his facebook note. That 25random things note that EVERYONE and their mom is doing (which I refuse to do *arms crossed*)
This is what he said which is like 100x better then what that chick said about Jacques

"Then there's Andrea. While I haven't seen the chick since Graduation, there's something special about our friendship, and it's been (almost) 4 great years. She's a beautiful, intelligent, and strong young lady. She is the Miss Independent that Ne-Yo was talking about, she is my sister."

That's just beautiful. It made my day needless to say. SO that mean mug pic above turned into

I like people who are real with me. Much Love Vinny =)

A Day In the Life: So...Now I am In A+ Papers Now

For all those who do not know...that is me^^ Drea's picture is all over this site
I talk to few homies on regular basis. One of them, Paige M. hit me up and told me she was writing a story about me. I was excited to hear this...so I sat calmly and waited. Here is what she wrote.

Real dope. Now I if I can only get my damn dog off my foot.

A few more average kids got on the bus before Jacques got on. Jacques Morel is a good-looking guy that everyone liked. He has both his ears pierced and the perfect smile. Jacques always wore tight jeans and a fitted shirt along with his skater sneakers. Sometimes Jacques likes to ware black glasses that aren’t even real. He just wears them because they’re stylish and he looks good in them. Jacques drives a black VW with deeply tinted windows and is very obsessed with his car. He’s a very funny, sarcastic guy who’s always entertaining people. He loves to play Gears of War and is convinced that he can beat anyone in it.
Jacques is very outgoing and his favorite thing to do is write. He has his own website that he updates daily and his opinion on hip hop matters more then yours. Jacques is very calm, cool and collective. He’s a caring and genuine person. Jacques gets a lot of girls and is very popular. Jacques Morel is going to be a household name one day.

You know what Paige? I might take you on a date just for that. But you better kiss me at the end of it!

Would You Hit?:Megan Fox...at Thanksgiving Dinner?

I was not one for the hype that was called "Megan Fox". I saw that trash movie Transformers and I was failed to even be convinced that this girl was running around with robots 3x her size.

I also failed to believe that a dude like Shia Leboeuf can hook up with her...and I cannot.

But, I have to say one thing though. Something has to be wrong with a girl that is way to perfect...I mean...shoot. She has to have bad breath or she does not shave or something. Something HAS to be wrong.

Hit the hop to see pictures of her paying Guitar Hero.

The most hilarious part about this is...her brother has no idea that I many people cuff it to his sister on a nightly basis. I mean...Drea got used to it.

New Music: D.Julien - "One Can Win"

Keeping in with tonight's theme of oversaturation in the rap/blog game, D.Julien is a perfect example of how someone can easily fall through the cracks of rap. How someone nice can be drowned out by all of the crap that populates the internet blog game.

Jeez it is like I have some type of agenda or something. Download and review inside.

D.Julien is dope. I will cosign this dude right now as one of the people that broke him to Drea and I's 400 supporters. Now before we can sit here and discuss this eminent threat to the game that he is, we must critique his song; correct?

The beat is something that I have heard many-a-time before. Something that is getting clearly old and used. Like the High School slut...after she graduates college. Now; with this in mind, the beat automatically took off a point for me in the originality range, but, the flow, the way it was delivered, and my slight liking to D.Julien no fucking homo ESSO, gave it points in the other categories.

Download it. You might like it.

Dj Concept: The Beautiful Fascination With 45’s // Stack Number 1

Dj Concept now gets his own tag. I have posted to much from the dude to not honor him with that. Only those two Jewish dudes have that ability also so he should be honored. Now, I checked the email and saw this in there. This is an old style mix featuring some old style songs...as in...real old. 1945 status people. Check the little blurb that concept sent me. I was listening to this earlier when I was getting my ass kicked on Call of Duty when I was pwning n00bs on Call of Duty...

And my mom asked me if I was my grandfathers age.

I looked at her...then continued playing.

I run this house. Better recognize. Download and Listen inside! Plus that little blurb I promised. Jeez all needy and what not.

THIS MIX IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. I repeat…THIS MIX IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you are offended by the sound of dusty vinyl, stop right now. The sound quality is what you might expect from very old, neglected 45's. Certified raw shit right here. Complete with scratches, pops, clicks and even some skips.

The story of The Beautiful Fascination:
This idea was born at a garage sale somewhere on Long Island. Hidden away in some dark corner of the garage, i found a few stacks of dusty treats. I believe I payed $5 for the whole box. The stacks have no rhyme of reason. Every so often, I will grab a new stack, hit record on the computer & see what lands on the turntable. And now….without further ado….in glorious lo-fidelity… The Beautiful Fascination

New Video: Kanye West - "Streetlights" By Sk808's

Sk808's & Heartbreak from Gabriel Gomez on Vimeo.

Remember when I broke my damn skateboard? Yea...a girl bought me another deck and I broke it on a 6 stair. Now I am without a damn skateboard. Regardless I think that this video is not as dope as the one I posted earlier, but just as nice. I peeped this on MikeWaxx's comment box he had going on. I did not see him post it...so I did.

The video would be 10x better without the sounds of the skateboarding..but...for a video done by kids...it is very well put together. Something that I am not used too.

New Video: Kanye West- "Streetlights" Fan made

K.West - SL from J Gavin on Vimeo.

I have posted quite a few fan made videos of Kanye's popular song "Streetlights". Now...the only thing I can say about this is.

Jeez.  I mean..was it that hard to understand that you can take the time off of hanging out with the weirdo's and make a damn video for this?

Regardless...this video is some dope stuff that I peeped on his blog. I have not been there in a while...hmm. Marcus Troy Kanye West must be having a good time blogging over there.

Stumbled On: Skyzoo Giving 60 Secs on Chi Ali

Skyzoo talks about Chi Ali from Gasface on Vimeo.

Spotted this over at Nah Right and I thought it was dope enough that it required the post. Skyzoo gets postings without any malice nor accord on this blog anyway.

Funny thing was, I remember watching an episode of America's Most Wanted and Chi Ali or what looked like him...shot we all look a like anyway was on it. Killed his sisters boyfriend? or Girlfriends Brother? Something of the sorts.

I thought it was hilarious about how a kid with so much promise...plummeted.

Stumbled On: Charles Hamilton Vs Serius Jones

@ItsTheReal dominated this battle in about three twits.

SERIUS JONES IS HERE AND RAPPING?!?!?! He's releasing more music to the SOB's crowd than he ever did on wax.
Serius Jones raps, "This is history right here." No, Serius, your career is history

I am a little dissapointed I was not able to head out there tonight. But...watching the video...a funny thing about it is...in a culture that is as HOMOPHOBIC as ours..why are all of these dudes crowded all over each other? I mean...I walk into shows like this and people scream no-homo at how tight my damn jeans are...

Are they drunk?

O yes, I am deterring from the battle itself...now this was not epic status...it was entertaining as hell regardless. But...that "Hip Hop Blogger" line was absolute ether...mixed with that father line....
Charles got his ass kicked. Jeez. Funny thing is though...the BLOGESPHERE will be a buzz with this tomorrow.

I am glad as hell I checked my email...shouts to ScThreads for this!

New Mixtape: U-N-I & Mick Boogie - Before There Was Love

Jeez. It is late and I just received word of this tape dropping today. Nice. More blog rap for me to either tear apart...or give a gracious review. It is really hard to please me now-a-days...I have become very moody.

The funny thing is...if it was not for blogs like this and others...the mixtape would have probably died by now. Shoot; Hip Hop would have probably died by now. That is what Drea was arguing about earlier. Ugh. Idiots in this rap game now-a-days.

New Video: DOE Feat Precious Paris - "The Hottest"

To be honest...there is not much I have to say after watching this mind bending lackluster imagery of black people dancing in front of a white screen I just want to know...really...

New Video: Fashawn in the Studio W/ DJ Muggs and DJ Khalil

In the Lab: Fashawn X Dj Muggs from CooL C [FLMARz.blogspot.com] on Vimeo.
Jeez...I let Andrea take the helm of the blog for a few hours and this is what happens? Good stuff happens. Regardless, currently I am blogging live from her house and I peeped this video in my email.

Fashawn is one of my favorite underground dudes coming out of the west coast. Although I did not watch the video because Andrea has terrible internet access anything from him gets posted...instantly.

I have some new D Julien, a few mixtapes, and what not to post...so stay tuned.

When You Hit: Lauren London

If you read this blog on a regular basis you know about Jacques' "Would You Hit?" posts where he takes women from everywhere and poses the simple question "Would You Hit?". So i thought about it and came up with "When You Hit". Basically I suggest the song to play "When You Hit" various types of women.

Today "When You Hit" a girl like Lauren London you play....

"Fuck You Tonight" Biggie ft R.Kelly

I remember when i first heard this song, I was in the car with my dad and it comes on the radio(the edited version "loving you tonight") my dad goes "You know there is a version of this song that says 'I'm Fucking You Tonight'? your uncle played it the other day, I was laughing" *silence*... Top 5 weirdest\awkwardest moments of my life.

In any case, this is the song you play when you hit a girl like Lauren London.
She's gorgeous but she has that innocent face. So she is the type of chick you wine and dine, take home to mama, show off to your boys and become "that nigga" for a little while. But at the same time you KNOW shes a freak. No one flexes dimples like that without having some freak in them.

This song is perfect.

It has a beat thats easy to freak to, and Biggie puts a dirty-Brooklyn-bad-boy edge on it.

"No love making, simply back breaking"

See what I mean?

Bring out the nasty girl in a chick like Lauren London with this song.. it isnt all "Face down ass up" raunchy-ness. But it will set the mood for a much needed break from candles and rose petals sex.

Thank me later.

Stumbled on: Talib Kweli & John Forte “Homecoming"

Instead of Chicago they rep Brooklyn. It was ok. I don't love Talib Kweli and on this song I wish his flow was more in pocket.
The other guy kinda sounds like Red Cafe to me.

More Information at the hop!

Jabari sits down for a "round table discussion" with Young Chris and Neef, Young Guru, 9th wonder to talk about the state of hip hop and the internet.

Hello world, we are in the age of the internet! I personally love the internet, with all of its flaws. I think it is a beautiful thing to have the entire world in a matter of a click. As a music junkie this is a godsend because the music is free. I know its wrong but in reality I do not have money to support every artist I like, I'm sorry.

Money isn't in album sales anymore, lets just embrace that, the internet has taken over and at this point it is just a status symbol to go "Platinum". As long as limewire, iTunes and CD burners exist, hip hop will never go back to how it was. The old days are dead, cut your losses and move on.

At the same time an artist like Donny Goines probably wouldn't get the amount of shine he's getting now without the internet, considering he started on Myspace.com. The internet is free promotion, artisits should be thankful for blogs like this one that supllies the reader with music that isn't just mainstream. Underground rap thrives mainly because of blogs.

And for them to say...
"theres some people on the internet that shouldn't be doing what they're doing whehter it be these blogs because alot of times a blog is a gateway for music and information to the masses (they just have time on theyre hands to say anything all day)"
"The same way there are these bloggers that shouldn't be writing"

You know what? How dare any of you even say something like that. The blogs are crucial to a hip hop artists' success these days. Face it. And to say that some people "should't be writing" bothers me. You have no right to say who deserves a blog and who doesn't. It's the masses that will decide if they like what the blogger is writing, not the artists. You don't think someone should have a blog just because they didn't like your song, or don't feel your music? I personally Hate Sandrarose.com I think shes ignorant, but at the same time I DON'T VISIT HER SITE ANYMORE, she has a right to be on the internet just as much as I do. It's all about the audience you are catering to and a blog is just a persons personal opinion. The same way you wouldn't hang out with someone you just don't like, don't go to their blogsite. Period.

And the Winner is....

ME!! duh....
You see this face? this is the face of a winner.
You see that smile? That's what happens when I win.
Right now I am doing a hapy dance in my seat in class.
Thanks to all who voted. Miss Keri won 23-12
Suck on the Rhianna

This wont be the last Jacques-Drea faceoff though.
Your participation is key to making these work.
Thanks *blows kiss*

Stumbled On: Quddus "The Inauguration Experience"

the Inauguration Experience from Quddus on Vimeo.

I saw another Inauguration video last night on 2DB, but this one was emailed to me so I decided to post it.

To be honest, I have not really spoken out on this blog about the Inauguration at all. I have been very "hush-hush" about it. So...am I excited?

I am a little excited. I just think that we have all these high expectations for him that might not be reached. I also think that we have made his election into a sea of ignorance and marred facts. For a man to be elected out of the ignorance of our past...we, in no way, should let the ignorance now overshadow us. There are no "white lies" and George Bush was not that bad of a President.

Look at it this way...Harry S Truman was considered a terrible President.

Stumbled On: Blacastan - "Life of A Tape"

I hit up my Facebook as usual to check my numerous notifications. Phil, one of my most LOYAL readers, shot me this. At first I was wondering what it even was...but then as I hit play I realized that I needed this man in my Zune.

In all seriousness, I think that this dude is dope.

Something crazy that was a treat to the ear. I felt like I was thrown back into '96 listening to this dude rap. The one thing I have a problem with...is why he is not so big yet? As in...why have I never heard of him yet?

Look for more of him to be here.

New Music: Sydne Renee "Lova Friend"

Got a handful of her songs in an e-mail. A couple of them I wasnt feeling too much but I thought this one was more of my taste. Sydne is soulful no doubt, and I think that's very lacking in mainstream R&B. Jazmine Sullivan, Keyshia Cole, Adelle and Estelle are holding down soul right now, everyone but Keyshia isn't getting the attention they deserve I think.

Regardless it's worth a download, good music to vibe to.

New Mixtape: The Kickdrums - Smash The System

This Mixtape I found over at Nah Right. These are the same dudes who produced Joe Budden & Joell Ortiz's Move On Track and Kid Cudi's terrible track on the Dj Benzi tape.

Now...the cover looks dope.

Which shows me that I really do want to download a tape where I barely even listen to these people.

Should be fun.

Tracklist and download inside. Outside? Nothing. But please vote for Rihanna!

Its The Real: Late Meditation

I love the truth these guys explicate through comedy. However, I wonder if that was really the case when it came to Budden vs Saigon. It make sense though due to how Saigon was easily enticed into dissing back. It seemed as if you could just throw something at Saigon...and that he would chuck it right back.

Perfectly played by the record company Budden.

Drea's Def Poetry Monday's: Gemineye "Penny for your thoughts"

Ok we all know Monday's are hard to get through, but something that helps me get through any day is Def Poetry. Nothing like words assembled in a unique way to tickle your mind and stimulate interesting thoughts.

As I continue to post yall will learn what a softie I am...

Breakdown of "Penny for Your Thoughts"

Now, if you are at all familiar with Def Poetry Jam, you know about Gemineye; who happenes to be one of the most talented poets to grace the stage and needless to say one of my favorites. He has made three appearances on the show but this poem is my favorite.

"Penny for your thoughts" hits home for me.

The poem explores the relationships men and women tend to have these days. Sex now and 'relationship' later... if it ever even gets to that point. But once in a while you find a person that you want to know more about then just their bra size or favorite position.

"So now I'm standing here ready to trade in all the sexual acts that we've performed for the chance to reform the very foundation and basis of our relationship and I reiterate my opening statement and I offer you a penny, for your thoughts"

Because of a poem like this I am convinced there are men out there who still care about what a woman has to say, what she's thinking about and who she really is, just gotta find him.

p.s. The dopest line was:

"I want to engage you by placing a 2 karat solitaire diamond on your mind and marrying your every thought."
